Pae Tamariki

Description:
On 31 of July the Kapahaka kids went to the regent. We went to the regent to perform, what we have been learning in Kapahaka for Pae Tamariki. The primary and intermediate schools were celebrating Pae Tamariki as well. Some of us were practicing new songs at lunch time, and we had practce in the weekends.

Big Idea:

At Pae Tamariki, I felt...
At Pae Tamariki, I felt excited to share what we have been learning every Monday afternoon because we have been working hard on our dances.

I felt most proud of…
I felt most proud of joining in for Pae Tamariki because it is fun to share what i have learnt for two years.

I found….challenging because…
I found singing challenging because I had a cold and I almost felt like i was going to cough in the middle of performance.

I managed this challenge by….
I managed this challenge by forgetting about it and just have fun.

At Kapa Haka, I next want to...
At Kapahaka, I next want to smile more during all the songs because it shows that I love being apart of Kapahaka.

Feedback/Feedforward:
Taylor, at Kapa Haka you definitely show what you know. I think you are great at Kapahaka. But as you said, you need to work on your smile. If you had that sorted I don't know what I would say what you needed to work on, because you are so fantastic at Kapahaka. Amy

  1. What a wonderful performance at the Regent. We all wish that we could have been there to see it on the stage but we did enjoy the video when we watched it. I am impressed that you managed to forget about your cold and not let it interfere with your performance because you were having fun and enjoying yourself. I like your idea for you next goal and yes smiling does always show that you are enjoying what you are doing and it also makes people smile more at you. Well done.
